Dear heart has seen the nursery which little bear now attends.
It is Ofsted approved, registered with the council, great child to helper numbers, great equipment, great standards, lovely building...
Dear heart and I think that really we don't want to move away from the nursery.
Darn.

Another Saturday of viewings
House hunting happened at us today. It is my own fault, I was talked into it...
You see, I saw one house that was a plausible house, so I rang up to make an appointment and was talked into seeing two other houses.
The first one, well, it was one of those woolly and hard to put the finger on things, but it just wasn't quite for us. I can't explain it.
The second one was absolutely gorgeous, although you did have to go past a really bad looking place to get to it. It had been relentlessly extended and improved. As I said when the appointment was made, it was a little over our (small) budget, but the gentleman on the phone assured me that it was the time to be making offers. However the lady there (who was lovely) divulged that she was not only not prepared to drop her price any further but also she was in no hurry to sell.
The third one we didn't go into. It did sound like there was a pack of rabid dogs in the back yard, but the big drawback, which had not been apparent in the pictures, were steps that would have been suitable on the Matterhorn. I could never have coped with the steps, it would certainly needed more muscular arms than mine to drag a pushchair up the long and winding steps.
There is another house to see next week. I am not looking forward to that either.

We went to see two houses yesterday. It was a deeply depressing experience in one way. Dear heart works in an area much more affluent than the one we live in, and as it is an hour's journey each way apart from anything else, it makes sense to look to moving. However our inexpensive first house has four double bedrooms and three receptions, although 'in need of modernisation, would suit diy enthusiast' and we can effectively afford a two bedroom one reception probably repossession.
The first one was a repossession, and it was so grim looking round. It had been gutted and the place smelled awful. However it's location was absolutely marvellous, near to shops, work, good schools and it was affordable. I think if bedroom two had been one foot longer I would be booking the moving van now. The second was absolutely gorgeous! However, again it was that bit too small.
Having looked at some of the sites offering free valuations, it is a deeply depressing experience, but we can but see. We are going to try and find a three bed that we can afford and that is within a reasonable journey for dear heart. Now I need to work out how to save as much as possible and accrue as much extra money as possible.
I also have the deeply depressing task of trying to declutter a four bed, three reception house to fit into a house with half the square footage.
