School - two clear days notice for particular clothing. It isn't too bad, it is just for a particular colour and yes, I can scratch around and get it, but really! Two clear days! I have too much imagination and can think of dozens of reasons why finding top and trousers of particular colours with no logo within two days could be a stretch.
They have known about this for weeks. Is it so hard for them to give us a little more notice?

Hugs - we used to get this all the time! I am lucky to be in a position where I could say to the Head at the time that we needed to give people more notice, especially when it was for Parents' Assemblies and performances when they might have needed to book time off work. Now we have a calendar of the whole year on the back of every newsletter, so that helps a lot. Doesn't help with the situations like yours, though - and I dare say that some parents just can't do it in the time allowed and the school must have some sort of contingency plans....
Morgan - I think they usually have something put by, but I know that the little boy a few doors down just went in uniform on Elmer day (poor kid - all those kids who did this must feel desperate!) and the selection of costumes on the queue in said a lot about parental desperation. They are quite good about giving notice of parent's evenings. Just no good at telling us when children need to be wearing something different. WS xxx
