This is now up, written tonight, hot off the press. It is a much more manageable 2180 words.
I still need to do a little more scene setting but I can soon get the pace a little quicker.

I'm really enjoying it. I'm biased, of course, but then I already knew you were a very good storyteller. Can't wait to read some more, but keep enjoying the writing and don't feel pressured!
