Leading astray is when you buy gadgets that don't Aactually make life easier. This doesn't fall into that category (in my experience anyway) Yes, it is easy to clean. (I don't know if it is dishwasher safe anyway, we always hand wash our). It all comes to pieces, and is quickly cleaned in hot soapy water. The water tends to get inside though so you have to remember to peel back the edge of the black base a bit to let the water drain out before you put it away. I've seen it cheaper at ascott.biz, but their postage is quite expensive. (OK if you also want to add bulk jam jar lids though, as they also sell those).
